Hump Day

Today was suppose to be "cleaning day" so naturally, when my girlfriend let me know that she was headed to the Gardens, I quickly reorganized my priorities. The kids were already dressed, so I just threw some snacks and plenty of water in a basket and went for it. I love the camel pants Loukas chose to wear today- part of our car talk on the way over was about Wednesday, and camel humps.

We seem to visit the Botanical Gardens of the Ozarks far more infrequently than I'd like- and when we do, we tend to pick the hottest days of the year to go!  It was intense in the sun today, but that didn't keep us from enjoying one of the areas most cherished landmarks- the moment you've had enough of the sunshine, you can scurry away into one of the many little shaded and themed nooks of the gardens. Every time we go, I think I leave saying the same thing:  We MUST return sooner than later!

Catch and Release

Our weekend was quite low-key, although we are amidst one very eventful end of Spring.  Not only is my husband opening a new casual-dining Indian-style eatery later this month, we are also remodeling a home that we purchased last month and plan to move into mid-July. So, with all that is going on, I'm committed to not over doing things socially, lest we lose our ever-loving minds (debatable that the threshold hasn't already been crossed.)

As I grow up a little every passing season, I've come to find that I am in fact- not an extrovert.  I'm not shy or private or quite or timid, but I'm not one who craves social engagements. Maybe that means I'm a getting old?!  Sometimes, I'm just not a party person. I don't have FOMO (fear of missing out) for the same things that I used to as a young adult. Instead of wanting to see and be seen and be all up in all the things that go on it this great town, my FOMO is quite the opposite.  I crave home time.  I crave the everyday.  I fear missing the quiet of slow evenings with close friends, eating in, roaming our wild Ozark yard, deer in our yard, card play with my first born, and a simple game of firefly catch and release. I love letting the house get cluttered and ignoring the bustle and being low and slow- it's nice to take the time to just be, sometimes.  Lord knows it's easy to let the days get away from you.

VSCO filmpack 00 for Lightroom

Visual Supply Company (VSCO) is currently offering a free filmpack for Lightroom, and since I am a fanatic off all things vsco, I jumped right on the offer! I had a nice little time this afternoon processing a few photos from a play session in the magical dandelion display that was our pre-mowing-day yard last week, and thought I'd share my favorites, here.

HAPPY EASTER!!!

There are 5 million dandelions in our yard. It's quite beautiful.
We dyed eggs for the first time yesterday-- it was messy and fun.
Potatoes make very fun egg-shaped stamps when carved- we made block print eggs with watercolor.
I'm ridiculously proud of our Easter tree.
If you replace the daily chicken eggs in your coop with dyed ones, it makes for a fun Easter Surprise.
Happy Easter!!!
